NCM is situated on the lands of the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people. We pay respects to them, especially their Elders and storytellers, as well as all First Peoples, nationwide. NCM acknowledges that communication technologies have a long history here, far longer than European occupation.

The National Communication Museum (NCM) explores the past, present and future technologies that connect us.

About

The National Communication Museum (NCM) is a brand-new museum in Hawthorn based in a historic 1930s exchange building, parts of which are still operational, on the lands of the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people.

Situated adjacent to Swinburne University in an emerging STEAM precinct and designed by award winning architects Carr design, NCM's visitors can explore the technologies that empower us to shape our future.

By engaging in conversation, risk taking and experimentation, NCM provides a welcoming space for addressing challenging questions in an ever-evolving landscape of technological disruption and change.

NCM is temporarily closed

Please note, NCM is currently closed while we prepare for our next exhibition, Stigmergy, opening on 4 June as part of RISING.
