Welcome to the Board: Patrick McIntyre and Cheng Lim

10 Jun 2026

We are thrilled to welcome two new Board members, Patrick McIntyre and Cheng Lim.

Their appointments reflect where NCM is heading: a space that sits at the intersection of arts, culture, technology and industry, connecting the public with the cutting edge of creative technology and asking big questions about how we communicate now and into the future.

Patrick McIntyre brings over 25 years of experience in arts and cultural management. He served as Executive Director of Sydney Theatre Company for 11 years before joining the National Film and Sound Archive (NFSA) as CEO. Earlier roles include Associate Executive Director of The Australian Ballet, General Manager of the Sydney Film Festival and Marketing Manager at both the Sydney Opera House Trust and Sydney Dance Company. Patrick has held positions on a number of boards and advisory bodies, including the Executive Council of Live Performance Australia, the advisory board of the CREATE Centre at the University of Sydney, FIAT IFTA (the international association of broadcast archives), and the Centre for Media History at Macquarie University. He was Chair of Streetwize Communications, a non-profit community publishing enterprise, and a member of the NSW State Creative Industries Task Force.

Cheng Lim is a partner at Mallesons, specialising in telecommunications, technology and infrastructure law. He is the only Australian lawyer ranked in Band 1 by Chambers in both Telecommunications and Information Technology, a distinction that reflects his standing at the very top of the field. Cheng is passionate about digitisation, data, cybersecurity and the power of technology to transform society. He chairs Mallesons' Information Technology Governance Committee, overseeing the strategic direction of the firm's IT and cybersecurity posture. His expertise sits squarely at the intersection of law, technology and infrastructure — exactly the terrain NCM is navigating as it builds Australia's creative technology network.

We are delighted to welcome them both to the NCM Board.
