Kids Workshop: Beginner Robotics with Edison | Thu 8, Fri 16 Jan | Ages 8–12 | Paid

In this whole-day workshop, students are introduced to basic robotics with our Edison robot kits. We will explore how you can code the Edison robots, from basic barcode scanning to block coding, to allow our tiny robots to perform a range of tasks for us! Includes museum entry to all exhibitions.

Talk: Furby Folx | Thu 22 Jan | Ages 14+ | Paid

Step into the world of Furby who knows what it is to be all things. Hear Freddy Weir and Patrick Lenton discuss Furby as revered Queer non-binary icon. Bring your own Furby or other companion creature along to compete for the title of Supreme Companion. See the Furby Chorus displayed at NCM’s summer exhibition FRIEND in a special afterhours viewing. Attendees under 18yr will need to be accompanied by a guardian. Furby Folx is presented as part of the Midsumma 2026 program.

RoboThespian Performance | Thursdays & Sundays | All Ages | Free

RoboThespian lives to perform but these days his performances are rare and exclusive. His repertoire is expansive, from Shakespeare soliloquies, to movie scene impersonations and vintage musical numbers. See RoboThespian perform a selection of pieces every Thursday from 1pm–1.10pm and every Sunday from 11am–11.10am. Free with museum entry.

Drop-in Robotics and Coding Playtime | Saturdays | Ages 3+ | Free
